Everything has a meaning
You are the wizard's apprentice, you must prepare the summoning circle while he's gone. The summoning instructions were placed on the pedestal near the circle. Placing four different elements and drawing the four correct symbols is required to create the powerful spell your master is expecting from you... Are you really willing to comply with those directions?
You can use the magic spells 
to move around in the workshop and navigate actions.
You can also cast the powerful spell 
to interact with objects, when you know what action you wanna do you can cast 
again to confirm the action or try the other spell 
to concentrate again on your levitating spell to move.
